In early February, church councils received a second letter about the planned convention on 20 April. In it, four schools of thought are presented. This reflection document allows church councils to prepare for the convention.

The convention is meant to gauge how churches see the future of our denomination, Rev Van Vulpen explained in a interview in Reformatorisch Dagblad. "We will submit the result of that poll in the form of a report to the General Synod. That is where the final decision will take place."

"Trust is the basis of the convention, we cannot do without it. We are hopefully surprised that there is so much support across the breadth of the churches for this convention," said Rev Roosendaal in a interview in Nederlands Dagblad.

Church councils will receive more information about the day's programme in early April.

For questions about the letters and about the convention, please contact the church council of your congregation.
