In Burundi, we support the work of Embrace, a shelter in the city of Bujumbura in Burundi. Here, street children and children with disabilities find a safe place during the day. Embrace is building a new shelter, with better opportunities for day care and supervision. We provided financial support for the purchase of the land and the construction of the centre.
Attention to each child
The shelter Embrace is affiliated to the local church Christian Life Ministries. Embrace pays school fees for twenty-five children and provides medical care, a daily meal, tutoring, sports, games and recreation. Driven by God's love and with personal attention to each child, the team guides them towards independence. This under the inspiring leadership of Marieke and Gentil.
New building opened
The main building now stands on the site, with several sleeping areas for children who cannot go home during the week. A kitchen has also already been built for preparing healthy meals.
Recently, this building was festively opened. With Gentil and Marieke, we are very grateful to God our Father for this milestone achieved. Now more children can be helped and cared for!
