The interior working group of the deputation for diaconate recently welcomed two new members: Irma Wildenbeest from Aalten and Wim van der Lee from Krimpen aan den IJssel. Irma has years of experience in the social field and with church involvement on people in need of help. Wim has experience as a deacon and, among other things, as director of a primary school in a Rotterdam district, has a good insight into current issues in society.
We are pleased that Wim and Irma are joining the working group. With their arrival, the working group now has five members. The other members are Rev Rien Mulder, Ad Heystek (both from Veenendaal) and Kees Kaasjager (Leerdam).
The working group has an important advisory function for the counsellor and for the deputation. On the basis of their ecclesial and social commitment, the working group members contribute ideas on current diaconal themes and the equipping of deacons. They also assess and monitor domestic diaconal projects.
