For some time, diaconate has had a desire to help more in the Middle East. Last year, we got in touch with an Armenian church in Beirut. They have a desire to make the Gospel known in their neighbourhood, but also to help in deed. This church supports 300 families, 100 of them with food and medicine. They also help them find jobs.

Half of the church members are Syrian refugees and the other half are Lebanese/Armenian. Their vision is to visit people in their homes. This is what the congregation's social worker, Christiana, does faithfully with a team of volunteers. They have no 'selection at the gate'. They really want to establish a relationship; this can also become a friendship, where people come to know Jesus Christ and become part of the church.

The church would like to support more people, but the funds are lacking. As a diaconate, we have decided to make it possible for this church to support an additional one hundred and fifty families.
