You can simply invite friends, neighbours or colleagues who are not used to going to church to join you. With a church tasting, that threshold becomes just a little lower. We are happy to share three recent examples with you, in Harderwijk, Nieuwe Pekela and Ede.

After neighbourhood day

In Harderwijk, they celebrated Neighbourhood Day with the neighbourhood on Saturday 23 September and held a church tasting the following Sunday. Interested parties were welcomed by, among others an article in the local newspaper invited. A video allowed people to see the inside of the church in advance and explained what to expect. The service was no different from usual, but a bit more was explained.

With open church

In Nieuwe Pekela, the church doors were a little wider open than usual on Sunday 8 October. Again, the threshold was lowered with a relaxed video beforehand. The church taster session was linked to the open church on Wednesday mornings. Those who still find a church service too big a step can come in and have a look.

On anniversary

In Ede, they held a church tasting not for the first time. This year it was centenary of the municipality seized the opportunity to organise a church tasting. Neighbours were welcome to visit the church on Saturday 7 October and to experience a church service on the following Sunday.
