Stichting Gave is organising the training day 'What connection do you make?' on Saturday 1 April in Veenendaal. With a fascinating programme for every Christian involved or interested in refugees. A day full of inspiration and practical ideas.

Refugees often feel uprooted and not seen. With asylum shelters overcrowded, they often have to move several times to temporary shelters. When Christians connect with refugees, however, hope emerges. But how do you connect and what should you consider when engaging with refugees? On the training day, you will get relevant tips and be encouraged to grow in connection with refugees. The training day is for anyone who has contact with refugees in the asylum seekers' centre or a regular home in the neighbourhood. The programme is also suitable for visitors who want to explore whether contact with refugees is something for them.

Gave director Jan Pieter Mostert and Syrian evangelist Samer Younan will give inspiring speeches. There will also be educational seminars on: 'Friendship and cultural differences', 'Connecting with Muslims' and 'Giving hope in the face of trauma'. New this year is the Deepening Square. At this square, Gave subject specialists are ready to answer your specific question. For example, about contact with Ukrainians, organising women's activities, or legal matters. During the break, there will be an information market and plenty of opportunities to meet. Gave will provide lunch and multicultural drinks.

During the day, Gave's new book 'The stranger in our midst, a biblical exploration' will be presented. In it, contributor Lianne van der Zee reports on her research on refugees in the Bible and offers practical lines to today.
