Intercultural Church Plants (ICP) Netherlands is launching a three-part online Bible study, 'More colour in the church'. The interactive material is suitable for small groups in the church. The series of studies will be presented during Opwekking and will be available via the website www.meerkleurindekerk.nl.
Working together on racism, diversity and reconciliation
Christians are called to love and reconcile with each other, even across ethnic and cultural barriers. In practice, this does not prove so easy. The topic of racism evokes feelings of pain, shame and resistance, even within the church. How do we initiate real change?
ICP Netherlands has developed an interactive series in cooperation with presenter and creative director Godwin Arhin and with media house Living Image. The three-part circle material challenges participants to actively engage with the themes of racism, diversity and reconciliation in small groups from a biblical perspective. The launch of More Colour in the Church will be during the Revival Conference on Saturday 27 May 2023 at 10pm on the main stage.
Interactive and personalised circle material
With this circle material, you are assured of some engaging, varied circles, without spending much time on preparation. This way, you can immerse yourself in this difficult subject matter in an accessible way.
This circle material is:
- personal: the topic is addressed by people who share from their own experience about diversity and racism;
- professional: the material was developed on the basis of years of experience with the subject matter and in cooperation with an educational expert;
- interactive: video, Bible study, assignments and podcasts alternate and encourage the group to get actively involved themselves.
To accompany the online series, ICP will provide a circle leader's guide on the website. The material can be started anytime from 27 May.
Intercultural Church Plants Netherlands
Intercultural Church Plants Netherlands is a network of intercultural churches in the Netherlands. The mission of ICP is - from a prophetic calling - to set out with churches towards cultural and ethnic multicolour within congregations. ICP NL does this, among other things, by organising training days for pastors, leadership and worship teams, by coaching and intervision, by giving sermon talks and workshops, etc. ICP NL cooperates in various contexts with, and is supported by, among others, the Protestant Church of the Netherlands, Stichting Opwekking, Micha Nederland and SKIN. The project is financially made possible by Verre Naasten and Missiefonds, the missionary support committee of the Dutch Reformed churches, by Opwekking and by fonds Kerk en Wereld.
