Our denomination has gained a congregation. Since Sunday afternoon, 24 March, the congregation of Haren has been officially independent.
Twenty years ago, De Hoeksteen was a small congregation within the NGK, which almost ceased to exist. CGK Groningen offered a helping hand and entered into a partnership with the congregation in Haren. The preaching place in Haren was to remain. From that cooperation a thriving congregation emerged, which is now strong enough to stand on its own feet.
CGK Haren was instituted by confirming the elders and deacons. The Cornerstone is a cooperative congregation of CGK and NGK and the service therefore included the signing of the cooperation agreement.
Rev Rik Bikker presided over a festive service, which focused on gratitude. "It is a privilege to be a congregation of Christ this time," he said.
thanks to Him, we all have access to the Father through one Spirit. Thus you are no longer strangers or guests, but citizens, like the saints, and household members of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. In Him, the edifice forms one whole and grows into a temple dedicated to the Lord, in whom you too are built together into a place where God dwells by His Spirit.
Ephesians 2:18-22
