A meeting day for parents and their deaf or hard-of-hearing child(ren) of primary school age (thinking and living) will be held on Saturday 18 November 2023. Part 1 of the Kijk- en Luisterbijbel (Look and Listen Bible) in Dutch Sign Language will also be presented.

The day is organised by the Interdenominational Deaf Chaplaincy (IDP) and the interest groups This King's Child and On the Road with the Other. The theme is "I see it this way". It is about how parents can shape their visual faith education and what materials they can use in the process.

The speakers are Hendrik Stevens, pastoral associate of the IDP, and Klaudia Douw, mother of a deaf daughter and teacher of religious education at Kentalis' Guyot School in Haren. Through a video, Alfred and Hannah Bout present part 1 of the Kijk- en Luisterbijbel in Dutch Sign Language. Rev Martin Visser of the Interchurch Deaf Pastorate opens the meeting. The programme is interactive.

The day is free for both adults and children! A voluntary contribution is appreciated. Walk-in is from 10.30am. The programme lasts from 11am-15pm, includes lunch and will be held at the Christian Reformed Church De Hoeksteen, Vledderstraat 7, 7941 LC Meppel.

Registration is required. Please do so before 13 November.
