Update December 2024: the vacancy has been filled.
Deputies mutual assistance and advice
Who we are:
The Deputation for Mutual Assistance and Advice (OB&A), appointed by the General Synod, is designated to support congregations with fewer than 250 members (that covers 50% of all our congregations!) that cannot pay for a pastor or church worker and/or full cover church funds themselves. In addition, an important task is to provide financial and building advice, even to congregations that do not need financial support. This help enables the Gospel to be proclaimed in more places. We may do this with a team of nine deputies and are appointed directly by the General Synod.
Within the deputation, the position of
SECRETARY v/m
Deputies would like to get in touch with a sister or brother willing to take on this organisational role.
What will you do:
You will manage the mailbox and may be contacted by phone by the congregations and you forward the questions and documents to the appropriate deputation. We meet three times a year and you prepare the agenda together with the deputation. You make minutes of the meetings and take care of correspondence where necessary. You also assist in drafting reports in preparation for a G.S.
Who are you?
You have a feel for secretarial work and enjoy working with other deputies. You have good oral and written skills and knowledge and proficiency in using Word and Excel. You have (limited) financial insight. You have a college level of thinking, act proactively and have time available. It is nice if you have insight into the church CGK map.
What do we offer?
A good collegial atmosphere within our deputation.
There is no remuneration attached to this position beyond an expense allowance.
