On Friday 9 February, Sister Wikje Huisman-Luiten passed away.

Together with her husband Gurbe and the family, she was sent to the Reformed Churches of KwaNdebele. In 2002, they returned to the Netherlands. After returning to the Netherlands, they served the municipalities of Onstwedde, Emmen, Winschoten and Onstwedde again together.

It is with gratitude to the Lord that we remember the way she and her husband dedicated themselves to edification work in the churches in KwaNdebele. This partly by ensuring that the family had a safe and stable place.

The obituary opens with the following sentence: Life is a pilgrimage in which we may learn to entrust ourselves to God. He is the goal of our lives. Wikje's final climb is now complete: by God's hand she has been able to reach His promised land of love and justice, peace and joy. There she now rests forever in God's peace.

The photo accompanying this post was taken a year and a half ago during a trip in the mountains, so loved by Sister Huisman. She was seriously ill by then.

We heartily wish Brother Huisman and their children God's comfort in coping with this loss.
