With the start of the new term of the General Synod, the deputation church youth and education spots available:

  • treasurer
  • secretary
  • general member

We hereby appeal to you to consider whether one of these vacancies is something for you or an acquaintance of yours.

Tasks

The main task of the deputation is to encourage and support youth work in our churches. We therefore maintain close contacts with our two youth unions (LCJ and CGJO) and allocate them financial resources from remittances. We monitor budgets and projects and the general wellbeing of youth unions (governance).

These are the described, actual tasks of the deputation. But there is much more: with the deputation, we can think along in broad terms about shaping faith education and faith development of the youth in our churches. We experience this as a beautiful and meaningful task. Our youth have the future, and it is up to us - the adults who surround them - to encourage and equip them. We like to see them put their hope in God. As a member of the deputation, you can advise on the practicalities of that encouragement and equipping.

We meet about four times a year. Usually live, sometimes online. At our meetings, we regularly invite delegates from youth associations or other third parties connected to our work.

The tasks and responsibilities of the deputation are divided by mutual agreement and appropriate to the profiles of the deputies.
