The Bond van Hervormde Zondscholen (Union of Reformed Sunday Schools), together with the Landelijk Contact Jeugdwerk (National Contact Youth Work), is organising a national training meeting for Sunday school leaders. It will take place on D.V. Saturday, September 2, at Putten (De Aker). Be welcome!

Does God look like daddy? Does God also have a house with rooms? Who is God? Just some questions children might ask you. Children, through what you tell them as a Sunday school leader, get a picture of Who God is.

At this meeting, you and other Sunday school leaders will discover what it means to pass on a biblical image of God.

The main lecture will be given by Prof Hanneke Schaap-Jonker. She hopes to equip us on the topic: What image are you portraying? God image and faith experience in Sunday school work.

The programme will start at 9.45 am. Walk-in is from 9.30 am. One round of workshops will take place after the main lecture. There will be a choice of the following workshops:

  1. The tricky side of the image of God in the Old Testament (Rev L. de Wit)
  2. Getting started with the image of God in an abrasive Bible story (Rev H. Polinder)
  3. The development of children's image of God (Judith van der Veer)
  4. Versatility of the image of God in applications to the child (Dieneke Blok)
  5. Autism, image of God and religious experience (Prof Hanneke Schaap)

After the closing at 1pm, you are welcome to join the meal. Participation in this meeting is free of charge.
