project criteria
criteria and conditions project proposal
The criteria that deputies diaconia use to support projects, are based on the vision that church aid work should lead to the movement of churches or church members supporting other churches / church members to fulfil their diaconal duty in their own society: “churches help churches to help.”
Sometimes this means that we do not cooperate with churches, but instead cooperate with Christian organisations, often associated with churches.
In many areas diaconal support and help can be given. Deputies focus mainly on the fields of:
education
health care
employment and environment
vulnerable people in society (for example women, children, people with disabilities, victims of HIV/Aids).
conditions
- The purpose of the project should be to advance Gods justice in society, in which the church community lives, and to radiate Gods mercy.
- The target group of the project should have an eye for vulnerable people in society, and it should relate to education, health care, employment and / or environment.
- A project should never just support the own church or congregation, and should never affect the environment in a negative way.
- A project in the Netherlands should indeed fill a vacuum on local or regional level regarding (Christian) aid work. The project will only be supported when there is no governmental funding given so far for the project.
When a project deals with equipping people in the field of diaconia and / or capacity building, you are also welcome to apply for support of CGK.
