Since the 1953 North Sea flood our churches give generously and on a regular basis to all kinds of people who suffer from a variety of disasters. Coordinating the relief aid is done by deputies diaconia. When a disaster happens, deputies call our churches for the collection of money. They also take care for the right use of the collected funds.
Deputies work as much as possible together with local churches in the affected area. When there is no church or no church connection at the site, then deputies work together with Christian aid organisations.
