A new edition of The Alarm Clock appears today.
A meditation on the book of Revelation reveals the importance of prayer for the coming of God's kingdom. There is, of course, much more to pray for. For example, for sincerity and self-knowledge, because it is so easy to make yourself look better than you are. Rev Wüllschleger has some practical advice on this.
Quiet time is also very important for Eddy van Gelder from Barendrecht. Among other things, he tells how important the work as youth leader is for his faith life: “it made me think about things I might not have thought about otherwise, or thought about less.”
Rev Han Schenau in his column again calls for unity and continuing to seek peace and justice in the world. Rev Jacob de Jong also writes about unity, across generations. The impetus is the idea for churches worldwide to reflect together on two thousand years of Christianity in 2033.
Also in this issue, the second of a series of articles on transgenderism, a call for the national prayer meeting on 7 February, and information on how students can apply for sermon slots.
