Carrying together
Those who are Christian Reformed belong to a local church. And helps maintain that church. That is what the fixed voluntary contribution is for. A church cannot exist without this financial support from its members. Together, the costs are borne. The generous 180 Christian Reformed churches together form a denomination. In that denomination, common things are arranged, such as the pension provision for ministers, the theological university, the organisation of the work of shipment, diaconate and evangelisation, the youth work, and much more.

Policy plan Christian Reformed Churches
The policy plan of the Christian Reformed Churches describes in general terms the activities that take place in the churches and the financial accountabilities related to them. Two things are important for the meaning of this policy plan. First, the independence of the local congregations is the starting point within the church order and church law. This policy plan therefore does not have the character of a diktat to be followed by the local congregations because of hierarchical relationships.
On the other hand, all local congregations will act in accordance with the endorsed foundation. This means that the outlined policy plan will bind the local congregations not by the hierarchical way, but rather by the moral way.
