PowerPoint presentations and sermon outline relief Sunday available
Next Sunday, 1 February 2026, is Relief Sunday. Each congregation has already received the necessary materials to hand out (digitally). A story outline and processing have also been made available for children's work. Furthermore, your (guest) preacher has received a sermon outline.
Courage and hope
The theme for this Relief Sunday is ‘Courage and hope’. We stand in a world that often seems dark: poverty, loneliness, mental distress, refugee problems. It is precisely here that we are called to be people of hope. Hope that is not naive, but grounded in God's promises, which are firm and sure thanks to Jesus Christ. That is what faith builds on. And faith that those promises will become reality takes courage.
Diaconal consultant Erjan van der Linde is really looking forward to it:
“In uncertain times, the value of the Gospel is all the more apparent. The Kingdom of God gives courage, despite all the worry and tension. As a diaconal team, we have been working wonderfully on the material for the Relief Sunday. We hope and pray that it may help give hands and feet to our faith!”
