The food supply situation was already difficult, but now there is famine. There is a shortage of everything. Someone who was there said: 'In recent years, large groups were balancing on the brink of famine. Now, because of the conflicts, there is no food. If no action is taken, millions of people will die of hunger in the coming period, including many children.' This is the biggest humanitarian crisis right now.
The good news is that help is being given. We are supporting partners on the ground. Hielke Zantema, emergency relief worker at aid organisation ZOA, talks about the situation and aid in Gedaref in the video below. He also indicates what we can pray for!
