For many theology students, spreading the gospel is a calling. But not every student can afford to study theology. That is where the Faculté Jean Calvin in France wants to do something about it.

The Faculté Jean Calvin is one of three Reformed theological faculties for the global French-speaking world. The faculty council provides scholarships to students who would not be able to complete their studies without this financial help. Last year, student Ianja received such a scholarship. That too is diaconate!

A scholarship for tuition fees

Ianja has been studying at the Faculté Jean Calvin since September 2021. The scholarship he received was enough to pay tuition fees.

"I am sincerely grateful. My family had such a hard time making ends meet for the past three years that I doubted whether I should continue my studies. But God has provided for my needs. In the past two years, I received all kinds of help from my own church, from other churches and from brothers and sisters. With the scholarship, that was enough to continue my studies so that I can learn to serve God even better in the years to come. May God be glorified for all that I have received in abundance during my studies so far!
