Rahaf is a Sudanese refugee in Egypt. She had been having huge problems with her right leg for years, and unfortunately amputation proved necessary. The doctor she had approached was willing to do it. He asked 120,000 Egyptian pounds for it, equivalent to 2,250 euros.
Rahaf's family still hoped for better news. They took her for a second opinion to a trusted doctor in the capital Cairo, who often helps refugees. He was hopeful that her leg would be salvageable. Sadly for Rahaf, her leg had to be amputated anyway.
This kind doctor charged 50,000 Egyptian pounds for the operation, about 930 euros. In addition, Rahaf now needs a prosthesis. Will you help pay for the surgery and prosthesis for Rahaf?
Rahaf is not the only one in need of help. Cairo is home to thousands of Sudanese refugees, many of them children. They cannot afford medical care and do not receive support from the Egyptian government. Seven churches in Cairo are coming to the rescue here by making medical care possible.
