During Autism Week, Platform Autism in the Church is organising the study day This is how it works in my head. This meeting on autism, brain functioning and relationships will be held in Amersfoort on D.V. Saturday 5 April 2025 at leven en welzijn. Through this, the Platform aims to provide space for questions that may exist when dealing with autism.

What do we know about brain function in people with autism? How does this affect entering and maintaining relationships? What helps and what doesn't?

The study day is organised by the Platform Autism in the Church, for people with autism, their families, ministers and other interested parties. The platform is a co-creation of the organisations: Eleos, On the Road with the Other, Helping Hands and This King's Child.

Programme

During the study day, Jolanda Groenendijk-van Roekel will give a lecture on this theme. Jolanda is a systemic therapist and remedial educationalist at GGZ Rivierduinen. After the lecture, there will be a forum discussion in which, besides the speaker, two experts by experience and a pastor will participate.
