From 1 September Your parish can apply for a missionary service for 2027. This service focuses on mission (formerly: missionary service), evangelism or diaconal ministry (formerly: diaconal service).
What is missionary work?
A missionary service is a church service dedicated to mission, evangelism or diaconal ministry. In a missionary service focusing on mission, Rev. Arjan Witzier or Rev. Willem van ’t Spijker leads the service. In a missionary service focusing on evangelism, consultant Rev. Peter Visser or another pastor involved in missionary work will lead the service. Rev. Erjan van der Linde will lead a missionary service focusing on diaconal ministry.
A presentation on missionary work can take place either during the service or afterwards, depending on the congregation’s preferences. The Services Office provides relevant materials to support this.
New working method
- From 1 to 14 September inclusive Each local authority can let us know its preferred date or dates using the relevant form below (please list any alternative dates in a single submission).
- Retrieved from 15 and 16 September we allocate the available services. Local authorities that, in recent years, Those who have not been able to receive missionary service are hereby given priority.
- Applications that after 14 September are processed in accordance with the principle first come, first served.
For churches in the north of the country, Rev. Jelle Nutma can also lead a missionary service focusing on evangelism. This can take the form of an exchange service. Ministers and guest preachers can get in touch with Rev. Nutma.
