Retrieved from 10 October ICP will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a national intercultural inspiration day in Veenendaal. It promises to be a festive day, with workshops, music, meetings and inspiration. Organisations such as Gospel & Muslims, Micha Nederland and Stichting Gave will participate.

During the day, Hans Euser will present his new book More colour in the church, a plea for churches that reflect the multi-coloured nature of God's kingdom.

Book on intercultural church

"The church can be a foretaste of God's new world - a place where people of all cultures praise God and share life together." With that conviction, Hans Euser, director of Intercultural Church Plants (ICP), wrote his new book More colour in the church - Seven keys to intercultural community building (translated in English as Gods' Mosaic).

The book was born out of 15 years of pioneering in Veenendaal and Rotterdam-Zuid as well as meetings with numerous churches in the Netherlands and abroad. "I noticed how often colour and culture continued to coexist in the church, instead of enriching each other," says Euser. "This book wants to show that being an intercultural church is not an option, but a calling - and that it is at the same time incredibly beautiful and hopeful."

The book, published in the Micha series by Buijten & Schipperheijn publishers, offers theological underpinnings, practical keys and real-life stories to help churches grow in intercultural unity.

Practical information

The day is aimed at church leaders, pioneers, volunteers, students and anyone with a heart for intercultural congregation. Participation is free of charge.
