The Voice of the Good Shepherd is a missionary congregation in southern Limburg. Throughout our church life, we want to be guided by the gospel of Jesus Christ and the commission He gives us to make the gospel known. This takes shape in the divine services, prayer meetings, Alpha and training courses, Bible circles and youth work. In this we have experienced the work of God's Spirit for many years. People come into contact with the gospel and long to follow Jesus. Gratefully, we see that the congregation is growing and there is a hunger for more of the gospel and more of life with Jesus Christ.
In our policy plan Geiste mèt on tour (Limburg Dutch for: Ga je mee op reis), we indicated that one of the pillars of being a church is Christ's command to go on the road with the gospel in word and deed. For us, this means that we long to set up new pioneer places in South Limburg. In doing so, we look forward to God's guidance and help. We long to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through new places, with the ultimate goal of founding new congregations. We are therefore looking for pioneers with a heart for Christ and a heart for Limburg who want to dedicate themselves to spreading the gospel and building up new congregations. We do this together with the Foundation Pioneers in the South. We are looking for a
Pioneer/missionary minister (1fte)
Who are you and what do we expect from you?
You have a heart for Jesus Christ and the gospel.
In Limburg, we see that people come into contact with the gospel in different ways. Some are interested, others are looking for meaning, still others have been raised traditionally religious and have acquired a new desire for life with God. You seek to connect with these people in different ways. In simple language, you manage to explain the gospel and your way of following is inspiring to others.
You have a completed theological education (preferably university).
In Limburg, there are many different ideas about life, life after death, the Bible and the church. It is important that you are theologically grounded to make the gospel resonate between these voices. You are able to bring theology practically and up close.
You are curious about your surroundings and dare to experiment.
Limburg has its own culture and character. You are able to establish lasting contacts in a way that suits you and fits in with your environment. Pioneering is also experimenting. When you fail, you don't give up but look for new creative ways.
You are decisive and a team player.
Pioneering is wonderful, but sometimes you run into problems. You manage to keep the goal in mind and make choices. You are able to inspire your team and bring them into our vision. At the same time, you know the team's qualities and use them. You take feedback seriously and take the team into account.
What can you expect?
