On 18 February, Ramadam begins, a time when Muslims are engaged in their faith and search for God. Gospel & Muslims invites you to pray for Muslims during that very month. Prayer can change hearts - of Muslims and ourselves. Download the prayer calendar and join in.

Ramadan - a month of celebration

Muslims have a rule of fasting from sunrise to sunset during the Muslim lunar month of Ramadan, this year from 18 February to 19 March. For many Muslims, Ramadan has something festive: a month of intense contact with each other, strengthening family ties, eating together and going to mosque together.

Why pray for Muslims during Ramadan

During Ramadan, many Muslims are more serious about their faith and seek an encounter with God. Muslims believe that in this month, the first part of the Koran was revealed to Muhammad and therefore there is a greater chance of God hearing their prayers and being merciful to them than during the rest of the year. For many years, Christians worldwide have seen this as a good reason to pray precisely for Muslims too, that Jesus Christ make Himself known to them. Gospel & Muslims gladly concurs and encourages Christians to pray for Muslims in the Netherlands during this period.

Prayer also changes ourselves

Prayer changes hearts of Muslims but also ourselves. Through prayer, we ourselves also start looking differently at the Muslims around us and our hearts soften. If so, also make the move to Muslims and talk to them about how God did not just send prophets with a book, but that the living Word of God himself came to the world (John 1).
