On Saturday evening, 10 October (date to be confirmed), Gert van Hoef from Barneveld will give an organ concert on the beautiful Nijsse organ in the Christian Reformed Church in Drogeham.
It promises to be a beautiful concert with a varied programme, which will include singing together. The start time is 8 pm. Admission is €10.00. Children up to 12 years old are free. Everyone is welcome.

Gert van Hoef (1994) discovered the organ at the age of thirteen. He was inspired by his grandfather’s playing, and it was his grandfather who introduced him to the instrument. He took his first organ lessons in 2008 with Mrs Daamen, an organist and choir accompanist in Barneveld. Just one year later, Gert took part in the Interclassic Music organ competition at Johannus Orgelbouw in Ede. There, he won first prize in his age category. During his organ lessons with concert organist Evert van de Veen, his musicality blossomed further and he developed his repertoire.
In preparation for his studies at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague – where he was admitted in 2013 – he took lessons from the Amersfoort organist Herman van Vliet. In 2017, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Early Music with a final recital on the impressive Müller organ at St Bavo’s in Haarlem.
From 2010 to 2018, Gert van Hoef was organist at the Reformed Church in Voorthuizen. He won several prizes, including at the Feike Asma Competition and the Govert van Wijn Organ Competition. He released his first CD at the end of 2014.
Gert has gained considerable fame through the YouTube videos he has been making since the very beginning of his career. Every year, he gives numerous concerts at home and abroad.
