Wise with media
A meeting day for parents of deaf and hard-of-hearing children will be held in Nijkerk on Saturday 21 March.
The theme of this meeting day is Wise with media for parents and children. Social media affect children's self-image, concentration and development. They grow up in a world full of screens, liking and comparing. For children who are deaf or hard of hearing, this digital world plays an extra big role. As parents, it is quite a challenge to offer guidance.
Richard Simmelink lectures on the influence of social media on young people and two parents share their personal experiences.
After lunch, there will be an opportunity for parents to discuss the topic with each other. What can you do yourself? How do you make your child more resilient? What choices do you make in the family? There is plenty of room to ask questions and exchange experiences.
Children are also welcome! There is a children's programme for them.
