CGK Zending invites your congregation to delegate someone for a special ambassadorial trip to Thailand, from D.V. 26 October to 4 November 2026. This trip will give you the opportunity to experience missionary work in the Isaan region (northeast Thailand) up close, and to take your own congregation with you in this after your return as ambassador.
Why this trip?
What does missionary work look like in practice in a predominantly Buddhist context? What does it mean to be church in Northeast Thailand? And what is God doing there today?
During the ambassador trip, you will be introduced to the daily life, local congregations and missionary work of Ab and Clarine Mol, our missionary workers in Thailand. The trip combines content, meeting and deepening. There is also space to enjoy culture and nature.
Purpose of ambassador trip
The journey is reciprocal in nature:
- As a participant, you deepen your involvement in the work in Isaan;
- After returning, you will act as an ambassador of this missionary work, mainly within your own congregation.
CGK Zending thus aims to help congregations get to know the missionary work in Thailand better and share it more widely.
What does an ambassador do after returning?
Participants are expected to:
- tell about missionary work in Isaan (e.g. in the church, youth groups, circles or mission committee);
- help to increase involvement in missionary work;
- contribute to a lasting connection between their congregation and the work in Thailand.
CGK Mission supports you as an ambassador in this regard.

Travel dates: D.V. 26 October to 4 November 2026
Destination: Thailand - Isaan region
Familiarisation day: 10 October 2026
Cost: approximately €1,500
As a participant, you basically pay for the trip yourself. The exact costs depend on ticket prices. These are always discussed and agreed with you in advance, before tickets are booked and the trip is finally fixed.
Should cost be an obstacle, you could ask your church council if it would be willing to provide full or partial financial support.

As a maximum of ten people can come along, we would like to receive a maximum of one application per congregation. Please register by Friday 29 May 2026 (last Friday in May) at zending@cgk.nl (attn. Rev. Arjan Witzier). Please include a short motivation.
Following registration, an introductory interview will follow. Participation is not automatic; it involves a careful process of mutual agreement.
