The Amitem Bible School in Mocuba, Mozambique is one of our mission's larger projects. This school started under the name InForTeM, when it was still officially owned by the Dutch mission. The school's management is now fully in Mozambican hands. Until now, there were two curricula offered by the school:

  • ETE for basic Bible knowledge on location in the villages and towns of
Zambézia, the province in which Mocuba lies. (This province is already two and a half times larger
as the Netherlands. The Netherlands fits twenty times in Mozambique).
  • EBOM for classroom teaching at the school itself, to pastors from churches
involved in Amitem. The largest of those churches has around one
    million members.

Third training

A third activity will soon start in which the school will offer theology at MBO level
is going to offer. The board is doing so in collaboration with an HBO college in the region that is
Hefsiba is called. This allows students to possibly continue after graduation
study at a higher level. To be allowed to offer this, the Bible school had to meet a variety of
(legal) conditions. These were all found to be in order.
It is great to see the school becoming increasingly professional under the leadership of
the director, Reverend Nahoma.

We hope for a bright future for this MBO course and wish the management, the
concerned teachers, students, building guards and cleaners
and all others for whom the school has meaning in their lives all the best.
