Mission supports a large number of mission projects in: Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Burundi, Tajmyr (Siberia) and a trio of church planting projects in Europe: Paris, Girona and northern Italy.
From the churches (minimum contributions) we received over a million euros last year
(€1.015.000). Donations and other income (including stamps, which we are happy to continue receiving!) brought in almost €85,000. Several bequests were also received, totalling over €207,000, and from the invested funds we also received a result in interest/dividend and share price results of over €171,000. In total, on the income side we were able to record an amount of €1,479,716. That was more than we had dared to hope for (and therefore more than we had budgeted for). With that money, we were able to help our projects, and for that we are grateful.
A total of €1,288,128 went out last year. More than three-quarters of that amount was spent on our projects abroad.
Tajmyr
A few details: In the Tajmyr region (Siberia), we supported a dozen families of evangelists from team Oleg Lyubich. The support for travel enabled Oleg and his team to make several big trips across the tundra: in total, they drove more than eight thousand kilometres with the Trekol, the special vehicle for that area. Some four evangelists drove more than two thousand kilometres by snowmobile to visit the various settlements of reindeer herders with the good news about the Lord Jesus.
Mozambique
In Mozambique (Zambezia province), Rev Nahoma's team taught in five villages and towns. The groups consisted of fifty to a hundred students. Every two months, the team toured all those villages and towns to give lessons and take tests for a weekend.
IFES
IFES HOST is a programme aimed at foreign students. Through this programme, a staff worker in about five student cities was able to support the programme, liaise with local churches, and of course pay attention to the foreign students. National coordination work was also made possible. Hundreds of students were reached in this way.
Botswana
In Botswana, work continued on the translation of the Old Testament. The Bible books of Judges and 1 and 2 Samuel could go to the consultant for a final check.
