Evangelist Oleg Lyubich lives and works in an area above the Arctic Circle. The area's reindeer herders, fishermen and hunters often live in harsh conditions and are very remote. With his team, Brother Lyubich travels thousands of kilometres every year to reach these people. We provide financial support so that suitable vehicles can be purchased for these arduous journeys. Dutch ministers also participate in the biennial training conference for evangelists. They then also join the tundra to evangelise.
A warm heart for mission in the far north
If, as a mission committee or church council, you would like to involve the congregation or groups (youth) from the church in mission work in the far north, you can do so by inviting one of the deputation committee members for a presentation. Besides the mission consultant, the deputation committee has four members who have experience in mission work there and are closely involved with evangelists. Some of them have visited the working area themselves several times. We are impressed by the work being done there by the Holy Spirit and are happy to tell you about it!
Stories of experience
A live eye- and ear-witness account makes more of an impression than just reading about it, in the experience of many. That is why we like to come. We bring visual material from missionary work and missionary trips that deputies have made. We also bring reading material with testimonies from the area that encourage and magnify God.
Invite us
You can invite us to make a presentation at a mission evening, at a church evening, or, for example, for the conclusion of the catechisation season or winter work. Depending on the number of children, special children's material will also be brought along to bring the missionary work closer. Available speakers, besides the missionary counsellor and assistant missionary counsellor are: Rev J. van Limbeek, Rev W.N. Middelkoop, Rev P.W.J. van der Toorn, Br René Hoogendoorn.
Do you have a warm heart for missions? Invite us!
You can request a presentation at: zending@cgk.nl . In doing so, we would like to receive information on where and when you would like the presentation to take place and around which occasion.
