There will be another children’s workers’ day on 31 October. Children’s workers from across the country will gather in Harderwijk to find inspiration, meet one another and receive practical training.

The theme of the conference is YES! I’m a youth worker! A conscious choice, says Jenne Minnema, youth work adviser at CGJO. “Children’s workers are there for children every week, often working behind the scenes. This day is intended to encourage them, equip them and remind them once again just how valuable their work is.”

The plenary programme consists of music, inspiring talks, a sketch and a panel discussion. In the afternoon, participants can choose from a range of workshops focusing on topics such as faith education, creative teaching methods, managing group dynamics and the world of children today.

As well as the programme, there will be plenty of opportunity to meet others. Organisations involved in Christian children’s work will be showcasing their work at stands throughout the day, so that participants can familiarise themselves with their resources, methods and initiatives.

Children’s workers’ conference makes a comeback

After a ten-year hiatus, Children’s Workers’ Day is back. The organisers, Jenne Minnema and Matthijs Vlaardingerbroek (from Creatief Kinderwerk and Bijbel Adventure), are enthusiastic. They are expecting at least two hundred children’s workers from churches, schools and other Christian settings.

Practical information

The children’s work conference will take place on 31 October 2026 from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. Venue: De Regenboog Church Centre, Biezenplein 1, Harderwijk. The participation fee is €22.50 per person.
