Since the 1953 flood disaster, our churches have been giving generously and with great regularity for people suffering from all kinds of disasters. The coordination of this emergency aid has been entrusted to deputies of diaconate. When a disaster occurs, they make an appeal to our churches to collect. They also ensure the proper spending of the proceeds of this collection.
As much as possible, they cooperate with local churches in the disaster area. If there is no church or no contacts with it, deputies work with Christian relief organisations.
