Inspiration and encouragement for Christians in contact with refugees

Stichting Gave organises the annual Gave day 'Good people!' on Saturday 23 March in Amersfoort. With a fascinating, renewed programme for every Christian involved or interested in refugees. A day full of inspiration and practical ideas.

When you used to walk into someone's house through the back door, you could shout, "Good people!" Gave wants to inspire visitors to the day to look at refugees in this way and to be good people to them themselves. A revamped seminar programme and inspiring speeches will make this concrete so that visitors can give it hands and feet Also, visitors will discover what God says in the Bible about this. Gave wants to call on volunteers to love refugees and give insight into the bigger perspective: contact with refugees is part of the fulfilment of God's global plan for the nations.

At the Gave day, you will get relevant tips and be encouraged to grow in your contact with refugees. The day is for anyone who has contact with refugees in the asylum seekers' centre or a regular home in the neighbourhood. The programme is also suitable for visitors who want to learn about contact with refugees. New this year is a separate training opportunity for staff and volunteers around Houses of Joy, Connect-Us groups and Gave youth camp volunteers.

Gave board chairman Wim den Hartog will give an inspiring speech. There will also be informative seminars on topics including: 'How culturally intelligent are you? And 'So, are you helping refugees?', 'Criticism of migration, how do you react?' and 'Faith conversation with Muslims'. During the break, there will be an information market and plenty of opportunities to meet. Gave will provide a sumptuous lunch and multicultural drinks.
