Trans World Radio is developing an app for Farsi speakers in the Netherlands and Europe. The app is called SUNDAY. A test phase was launched last year and the app is now nearing completion. TWR has been working with and for Iranians and Afghans for many years, but its focus has mostly been on Iran and Afghanistan itself, while the Iranian and Afghan communities in Europe are also significant and digitally very active.
The SUNDAY app introduces these people to life in Europe in an approachable way. They are invited to learn more about the Bible and can be put in touch with Christians and churches in their area through the app. Those who are already Christians are encouraged and equipped from the Bible. At the same time, TWR wants to help non-Farsi-speaking Christians in Europe connect with these target groups through the app. Therefore, the app is also accessible in English.
TWR makes the Gospel of Jesus Christ heard worldwide through media such as radio, internet, mobile phones and audio players. Its programmes reach everywhere: to people who have never heard of Jesus, in closed countries and in war zones. There are broadcasts in more than 200 languages. Where possible, TWR collaborates with local churches in the production and aftercare of programmes.
