The Pastors' Confidential Committee takes care of:

  • providing pastoral assistance and advice to pastors and/or church councils at their request or at the request of church trustees/classes in situations where relationships between them have become difficult, with two experienced pastors and another brother with extensive ministerial experience doing the 'field work', while they are assisted by three counsellors with expertise in conflict management and/or psychosocial issues;
  • working in absolute confidentiality; the trust committee is accountable only to the General Synod, with confidential information being given - if necessary - only to the Synod's moderates;
  • carrying out specific mandates of the General Synod to promote less conflict between pastors and church councils.
