Full correspondence exists with the Free Reformed Churches from the time they came into existence. They were formed by members of our and other churches who emigrated (especially after World War II) to Canada and the United States. In the early days, these churches were mainly served by ministers from the Christian Reformed Churches. These pioneers included di. J. Hamstra, J. Tamminga, W.F. Laman, J. Keuning and G. Bilkes. Christian Reformed ministers have also served in the missionary work of the Free Reformed Churches: Rev. M. Rebel in Venda, Rev. E. Everts in Guatemala.

The Free Reformed Churches have about 5,000 members in 21 congregations. Of these congregations, two are located in the United States.

The Free Reformed Churches work closely with the Heritage Reformed Congregations in their theological education at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Mi.

Information about the local churches can be found on their websites under the 'about us/congregations' button.
