Are you making plans for the autumn? Then consider a presentation on missions in your congregation. This could be on a Sunday during and after a worship service, on a weekday evening, or on an afternoon for senior citizens in the congregation.
Besides the mission consultant, several members of the deputation committees are also willing to come to your congregation to talk about mission projects. And there are a number of furloughed missionaries in the country this autumn:
- Bible translation consultant M. van Dam (sent by the Den Helder church) lives in India, but will be in the Netherlands until the end of the year. Her presentation on Bible translation work is very fascinating.
- Also on leave in the Netherlands are Renze and Catharina, workers from Central Asia. The mission team will be happy to help you get contact details for this family. It is impressive to be informed about missionary work happening in 'closed' countries.
- Janetta Fokkema, seconded by the Drogeham church, will be in the Netherlands from September to November and is willing to give presentations.
- Family Kamphuis, sent out by the church in Ede, will work for Wycliffe in the coming years but from the Netherlands. The family has lived and worked in Tanzania and Uganda for years. Fortunately, today's technology allows them to work excellently from the Netherlands. They moved to Ermelo in early June, and they are also willing to provide an information evening or a mission presentation.
