Once a year, the Services Office is a small annex of the TUA. Students taking the missionary course visit the Services Office in Veenendaal as part of the curriculum. On Friday 31 May, they were given a guest lecture there by the consultants of mission, diaconate and evangelisation on developments in those three areas. These are areas that over the years have become increasingly clear that they are inextricably linked.

The guest lecture also includes a practical component. The students visited the pioneer site The Poster in Veenendaal and they made a St Paul walk in Veenendaal. That walk included a street with expensive houses behind tall hedges on one side and cheap rented flats on the other. The students soon noticed that it felt logical to focus missionary activities on the flats, "as if the residents of the villas would not need the gospel".

As counsellors, we hope the guest lectures will inspire and challenge students to integrate what they hear into their studies and start discovering their own vocation when it comes to mission, diaconate and evangelism.
